Scentsy scoop for success!

Scentsy Hits the press!

Getting the word out about how to generate MORE income for you and your family.

With the rising cost of living and wages not stretching far enough to cover the deficit, it's time to look at other avenues. How many times have you googled "earn extra income", or "work from home"? If you are anything like me, when the money ran out mid month I would scour the internet for ways I could make more money.

The trouble was, they always wanted a start up cost. You had to pay out to make money. Ridiculous when you consider that you are looking because you don't have extra income.

Scentsy costs £94 to get your starter kit, I thought it was expensive. It was £94 I didn't have and if I did have £94 that was a weeks shopping. But then look at the flip side. It gives you an avenue to make an extra income stream.

I joined Scentsy November 11th, 2011 and I put the £94 cost of the kit on my credit card - determined that I would sell enough that month to pay for the kit and then have extra for Christmas too. Before I signed up, I had got myself parties lined up and booked in so I was off to a running start. Suffice to say I earnt enough to pay the kit fee off & enough to pay for Christmas.

Then I saw the reality, not only was this going to work, I saw why the kit fee was there. It's enough that you get the product as a hefty discount to start your business off, and its not too little of an amount that you don't get complacent and not put the work in.

If I had paid half of that kit cost, would I have worked as hard to make sure I had parties booked to recoup that cost? The festive expense looming over me was certainly an extra incentive too. having an opportunity where there is a cheap start up costs or you join for free poses a couple of threats:

1) The company faces a huge risk of "kit nappers" who pay nothing or a fraction of the price for the product and you never see them again. Effectively giving people product.

2) The new Consultant has no fire in their belly, no ownership of the business because they got it for free, or at a huge discount. Its that feeling that you are invested in your business that makes a huge difference.

3) The company gives you a "free" kit but insists you must have 6 parties booked before you sign up, and then the cost of the kit is taken out of your commission before. You are effectively working for free until your kit is paid off. Most set ups like this will endure weekly phone calls from your upline to ensure you are "on target" to pay back you kit amount. A pressure you don't need when running your own business.

In short, if it looks too good to be true - it usually is. If you want to generate an extra income stream, or replace your current income then you will have to get another job as an employee, or invest in a start up business.

I choose the latter - and completely encourage anybody to work for themselves. Welcome to the free world - you will never work harder for anybody than you will for yourself.

Work your tail feather off for a while to set a good foundation to build your business year on year.

Good luck - you can do it :)
