How very UK. Or to put in more specifically, How very South Of England.
3 inches was all it took to bring Southampton to a grinding halt. You'd have thought that with the Black Ice Incidient of 2010 we'd have learnt our lesson. That the main roads would all be gritted, routes to the hospitals would be clear & that if you really didn't need to be on the road, you weren't.
Oh heck no. Schools closed, roads totally gridlocked, cars sliding all over the road, access route to the hospital had cars abandoned on double yellow lines leaving blue lighted ambulances stuck at the top of the road with no access.
What ever happened to the mantra "Keep Calm & Carry On". Our fellow patriots a fews hours further North are having their annual Laugh At The Southerners events in Pubs and clubs as they go about theut business. Why are we so utterley floored by the concept of snow?
When I was growing up we only ever had snow a handful of times. I think decent snow, snowman building snow, maybe just the once. My children have seen snow every year for at least 5 years. It's old hat to them.
I'm expecting a visit from relatives this afternoon, from Denmead 40 minutes away. Such a drive would usually not even warrant a travel discussion. But I can see from my window that 3 days into it and my road has still not been gritted.
Well, I hope you are enjoying your snow days. I'm not complaining, more commenting on the total panic that ensues and drives everything to stop dead at the sight of the white stuff!
I've spent 3 days enjoying time with my boys, working my scentsy business & catching up with lots of oaoerwork. Happy days :0) Enjoy the gratuitous snow pics. How did you "cope" this weekend?

Back to the old grind.....
When you work in retail or direct sales, October - December is THE busiest time of year. It can account for 50% of the entires years sales. So no surprise then that I worked my little odd socks off for weeks!
I have a full time office job, as well as the Karate club but I LOVE running my Scentsy business along side all my other commitments. It's my desire to succeed in my own personal Scentsy business that pushes me through each and every day in the lead up to Christmas. 7 day weeks for nearly 2 full months.
I'd make Scentsy work around everything else. Dropping off orders on the way to work, collecting orders that came in through Facebook & via text & email while I'm at the day job, posting orders out on the way home from work, take the dog out, feed the kids, put a wash load on, answer emails, receive delivery, sort delivery, deliver delivery, sort tomorrows party, make scent samples....and did I feel a pressure to do it? Was it a struggle? No! I so wanted to do it! I couldn't wait to get back from the day job to get stuck in. I loved to figure out where I could fit in what task, before work, lunch break, after work, evening?
I got such a buzz out of it. And was it worth it? YEAH!!! I've just enjoyed my second debt free Christmas thanks to my Scentsy business. Did I go a little overboard and spoil the kids? Well, yes. Did I hit the sales this year, when I've never had any money to spend in them ever before? Yep!! Did I go to Ikea for meatballs and come out with a trolley full of goodies? Yes, yes I did!!
Scentsy has been a huge financial relief for me and my family.
So to all those that say, I've got too much on, I'm too busy, I can't fit it in around everything else. Yes you can!
What is your day job stopping you from achieving? This is a huge opportunity that WILL fit in to your life if you allow it to.
So now my problem is, after 2 glorious weeks of down time & family time over the Christmas & New Year break, it's back to the old grind next week. I've come to realise this week that if I didn't work full time I could fill my days with Scentsy no problem! There are so many possibilities that when I have the extra time, I'm working it for all it's worth! But until my Scentsy business is paying every bill each month, it will a slot in nicely around the rest of my life.
In a year my business has grown from just me, to 15 in my team. This year that will double, if not treble or quadruple! Exciting times ahead!
Have a fabulous 2013 everybody! This is going to be one hell of a ride!
